A civic centre for ecological reuse and creative production

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
The nitrogen crisis has accelerated the growth of invasive weeds and algae across Dutch Natura 2000 landscapes, threatening biodiversity. Set within the former Hembrug ammunition factory, the proposal transforms this ecological excess into fibres, paper, and pigments. Through workshops, galleries, and artist residencies, the site is reimagined as a landscape of regeneration, where waste becomes cultural value.

Coding in nature and movement
Mimicking the movement of a stingray through coding

Digital Design module

This module encourages the development of coding as an adjacent skill to architecture by introducing computational thinking through a simplified design exercise. Using code to mimic natural movement, the project explores geometry, animation, and parametric relationships, demonstrating how digital tools can be used to analyse, represent, and simulate organic behaviours in a visual and interactive way.
A creative climbing centre for children

Studio: Spherical Entanglements
-A climbing centre for children in Queensferry and Edinburgh, offering two distinct facilities: a traditional bouldering area and a crochet climbing playground. The design amplifies freedom, creativity, and imagination, shaping a utopian, boundless space for children.
Envisioned as a dynamic indoor playground, it caters to each child individually through bouldering and art-making activities. The flexible, organic nature of crochet is mirrored in the building’s external form with a timber woven roof and surrounding landscape, thoughtfully integrating with and protecting the site’s historically rich structures as disused Navy barracks.

Located between the small villages of Saré Omar and Guiro Mandou in Kolda, Senegal, the “Circle of Life” aims to offer a safe, hygienic, and tranquil environment for expectant mothers. Supporting them from prenatal care through delivery and postnatal recovery.

-“Staying Afloat” is a microhomes concept, a future thinking proposal for mobile single-storey floating dwelling emerging as a symbol of sustainable future living on flood prone areas. Designed to be folding and flexible to suit neighbourhood clusters, it’s interchangeable form could position itself equally on narrow waterways, with its linear configuration, or on wider rivers with a folding triangular plan.

Competition
-A conceptual housing design responding to the pressing housing crisis. The brief challenges the use of overlooked spaces beneath bridges around the world, exploring ways to introduce communities that could live, thrive and enhance these environments.
